Refresher training - hydraulic loader crane
The certificate for operating a hydraulic loader crane has to be kept valid. Repeated familiarisation is carried out at least once every three years under Section 7(5) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll.
We go through the changes in the regulations since the last training and the mistakes we see most often with loader cranes in practice. Those are outriggers not extended or badly packed, exceeding the lifting capacity at long boom reach, work under electrical lines and a badly secured load on the load bed.
If the driver has meanwhile moved to another vehicle or another crane, tell us in advance and we will adapt the training to it.
Familiarisation is not only due when the deadline runs out. The law also requires it when you transfer an employee to another workplace or other work, or when you introduce a new working procedure or new work equipment (Section 7(3) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll.). A new loader crane or a different vehicle is therefore a reason for training even if three years have not yet passed since the last one.
Familiarisation must be demonstrable and the employer has to verify that the employee understands the regulations and working procedures (Section 7(1)(a) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll.). Without a written record with the date, content and signatures, this is hard to prove during an inspection.
If the driver does not have the certificate yet, start with the course Basic training, hydraulic loader crane.
