Basic training - electrical technician §22
An independent electrical technician under Section 22 already works without supervision and may lead workers at level Section 21. It is the most sought after level in maintenance and in electrical installation companies.
This level calls for electrical engineering education and professional practice, the length of which is set by Decree No. 508/2009 Coll. according to the education attained. Write to us with the applicant's education and years of practice and we will tell him whether he meets the conditions for Section 22.
We go through the effects of electric current and first aid after an electric shock, protection against contact and against short circuit, systems and classes of premises, safe switching off, securing and verifying the de-energised state, live working and work in the vicinity of live parts, responsibility for the assigned workplace, the check of tools and instruments, documentation and the procedure in the event of a fault.
The course ends with a written test. After that we issue a certificate of competence to carry out activity on electrical installations according to the voltage and the class of the premises, under Section 16(1)(a) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll.
The certificate of competence has to be kept valid. Updating professional training is done every five years under Section 16(8) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll., and repeated familiarisation at least once every three years under Section 7(5). The refresher training for electrical technicians serves for that.
Anyone who is going to direct an activity or an operation needs level Section 23.
