Refresher training - work at height and above free depth
Familiarisation for work at height and above open depth is repeated once every 12 months under Section 3(1) of Decree No. 147/2013 Coll. It is the shortest interval of all our training, so it pays off to put the date in the calendar as soon as the licence card is issued.
We go through the changes in the regulations since the last training, the lessons from falls from height and the mistakes we see most often in practice. Those are anchoring to a component that is not intended for it, too great a fall distance without an energy absorber, insufficient clear space below the workplace, working from a ladder where a platform belongs, and a missing rescue plan after a fall has been arrested.
A separate part belongs to the check of personal protective equipment. A harness, a rope and an energy absorber have a limited service life and are withdrawn after a fall has been arrested. We show what to look for in the visual check before every use.
If the employee does not have the licence card yet, start with the basic training. Anyone who works on a rope renews the licence card for rope access techniques separately.
