Basic training - mobile elevating work platforms
A mobile elevating work platform with a motor drive and a lift height above 1.5 metres is a reserved technical lifting device. Anyone who operates it must hold a written certificate of verified professional knowledge.
The certificate is issued by an inspection technician on the basis of familiarisation and training under Section 17(3) of Decree No. 508/2009 Coll. This applies to platforms that are not mounted on a chassis intended for operation on public roads. A platform on such a chassis falls into group A and its operator needs a licence card, not a certificate. If you are not sure which type you have, write to us and we will look at it.
We go through the construction and the types of platform, that is scissor, articulated and telescopic, the rules for stabilising the machine on a slope and on uneven ground, work near electrical lines, the procedure when the drive fails and the way to rescue the operator from the basket. We build on STN EN 280 and on the manufacturer's documentation. At the end you take a written test.
The familiarisation is repeated once every 12 months under Section 3(1) of Decree No. 147/2013 Coll. A separate course serves for that, Refresher training, mobile elevating work platforms.
The course is open to a person over 18 years of age who has completed compulsory basic schooling.
If you also need load slinging or the operation of a hydraulic loader crane, see the courses Slinger and Hydraulic loader crane.
