Refresher training - electrical technician
An electrical technician's certificate of competence has to be kept valid. There are two duties for that and it is worth not confusing them.
Updating professional training is carried out every five years under Section 16(8) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll. Without it the certificate loses its validity and the worker must not work on electrical installations. Repeated familiarisation is the second duty and is carried out at least once every three years under Section 7(5) of the same Act.
We go through the changes in the regulations and technical standards since the last training, the lessons from electric shock accidents and the mistakes we see most often in practice. Those are working without verifying the de-energised state, relying on the breaker being off, missing protection against re-energising, unsuitable or unchecked tools, and exceeded intervals for professional examinations and tests.
The training applies to all three levels, that is Section 21, Section 22 and Section 23. Tell us the level and the scope of the certificate when registering.
Not sure which one is due? Send us the date from the certificate and we will tell you.
