Refresher training - operation of a hand-held chainsaw (other activity)
A licence card for operating a chainsaw in activity other than timber harvesting has to be kept valid. There are two duties for that and it is worth not confusing them.
Repeated familiarisation is carried out at least once every three years under Section 7(5) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll. In it we go through the changes in the regulations since the last training and the mistakes we see most often in practice. Those are cutting above shoulder height, working from a ladder, underestimating kickback at the tip of the bar, a blunt or badly tensioned chain and missing cut protection trousers. This course covers precisely that duty.
Updating professional training is a separate matter and is carried out every five years under Section 16(8) of the same Act. A separate course serves for that.
Not sure which one is due? Send us the date from the licence card and we will tell you.
If the worker does not have the licence card yet, start with the basic course. Anyone who is also renewing the logger's licence card saves with the combined refresher training.
