Refresher training - operation of a hand-held chainsaw (other activity + timber harvesting)
Anyone who holds both licence cards, for timber harvesting and for other activity, does not have to attend two trainings. This refresher training covers both activities at once.
Repeated familiarisation is carried out at least once every three years under Section 7(5) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll. We go through the changes in the regulations since the last training and the mistakes we see most often in practice. From the logging part these are a hinge left too thin or omitted, a badly chosen escape route, dealing with a hung up tree the wrong way round and underestimated tension in windthrown timber. Outside the forest these are cutting above shoulder height, working from a ladder, kickback at the tip of the bar and missing cut protection.
Updating professional training is a separate matter and is carried out every five years under Section 16(8) of the same Act. We run it too, just get in touch and we will arrange a date.
Not sure which one is due? Send us the dates from the licence cards and we will tell you.
If the worker does not have the licence cards yet, start with the combined basic course.
