Inspections and checks of electrical appliances

An electrical appliance used by an employee at work has to be checked regularly. This covers computers, monitors, printers, kettles, microwaves, fridges, extension cables and machines in the workshop. It applies to offices just as much as to production.

We carry out the checks at your premises. We come, take the measurements and issue a report.

What the check covers

Visual inspection. Condition of the supply cable and plug, damage to the casing, heat marks, unprofessional repairs. This is where most defects are found.

Measurement. Protective conductor resistance, insulation resistance and leakage current according to the protection class of the appliance.

Functional test and verification of the control and safety elements.

Labelling and records. We put a label on the appliance with the date and the next due date, and you receive a report listing the equipment together with the assessment. Items that failed are clearly marked in it.

How often and why

The interval depends on the group the appliance belongs to and on the environment in which it is used. It is different for a hand-held appliance on a construction site and for a monitor in an office. We will tell you the exact intervals for what you have, just send us a list.

How the check works

Before the visit, send us a list of your appliances if you have one, or at least their approximate number and their distribution across the building or sites. Based on this we plan the time and procedure so that the check interferes with your work as little as possible. In offices we work room by room, so an appliance is disconnected only for the time of the measurement. Appliances that fail are marked and the report states the reason, so you know what to have repaired and what to discard. With a larger number of sites we split the dates. You also receive the report electronically, so you can use it to keep records and plan further dates. New appliances added in the meantime are included in the records at the next check.
