Refresher training - operation of a hand-held chainsaw (timber harvesting)
A logger's licence card has to be kept valid. There are two duties for that and it is worth not confusing them.
Repeated familiarisation is carried out at least once every three years under Section 7(5) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll. In it we go through the changes in the regulations since the last training and the mistakes we see most often in practice. Those are a hinge left too thin or omitted altogether, a badly chosen escape route, dealing with a hung up tree the wrong way round, underestimated tension in windthrown timber and working alone without an agreed means of contact. This course covers precisely that duty.
Updating professional training is a separate matter and is carried out every five years under Section 16(8) of the same Act. We run it too, just get in touch and we will arrange a date.
Not sure which one is due? Send us the date from the licence card and we will tell you.
If the logger does not have the licence card yet, start with the basic course. Anyone who is also renewing the licence card for other activity saves with the combined refresher training.
