The employer must designate the employees who will provide first aid at the workplace and arrange their training. This follows from Section 8 of Act No. 124/2006 Coll. It is not a formality; in cardiac arrest the first few minutes decide, and the ambulance is rarely on site by then.
We teach employees to assess the condition of the casualty and approach him safely, to call for help and what exactly to tell the dispatcher, adult resuscitation including the use of an automated external defibrillator, clearing the airway and the procedure in choking, stopping severe bleeding, treating burns, the procedure after an electric shock, after an injury from a chainsaw and after a fall from height, the recovery position and care for the casualty until the ambulance arrives.
We adapt the content to your operation. Office work carries different risks than a workshop, a building site or a forest.
The law does not set how often the training is to be repeated. Skills fade quickly, though, so we recommend renewal every two years, or whenever the group of designated employees changes.
