Basic training - OHS (occupational safety and health)
Under Section 7 of Act No. 124/2006 Coll. the employer must familiarise every employee with the regulations for ensuring occupational safety and health. It is done on entry into employment, on transfer to another workplace, on assignment to different work and on the introduction of a new technology, a new work procedure or a new work item.
The familiarisation is repeated at least once every three years, unless another regulation sets a shorter interval. This follows from Section 7(5).
A shorter interval applies to selected construction work. Where work is done at a height above 1.5 metres in places where it cannot be done from a firm and safe floor, from a mobile elevating work platform, from a ladder at a height above 5 metres, or in excavation work deeper than 1.3 metres, the familiarisation is repeated once every 12 months under Section 3(1) of Decree No. 147/2013 Coll. The shorter interval does not apply to other construction work.
We go through the rights and duties of the employee and of the employer, the risks at the specific workplace and the measures against them, personal protective equipment and its use, prohibited work and workplaces, the procedure after an occupational accident and its reporting, first aid and evacuation, and the rules of safe conduct that are broken most often in practice.
We run the training online as e-learning and also at your premises. The online version pays off with larger numbers of people and with operations spread over several sites, because nobody travels anywhere and you have the record of familiarisation immediately.
Alongside this the employer has further duties, for example to designate and train employees to provide first aid and to arrange fire protection training. Full care is covered by our occupational safety service.
