Professional inspections and professional tests of electric hand tools are carried out pursuant to the Regulation of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic No. 398/2013, Section 13b Coll., and based on the standard STN 33 1600:1996 - “Inspections and checks of electric hand tools during use”. These legislative documents set out procedures and deadlines for carrying out inspections and checks of electric hand tools, thereby ensuring occupational safety and health protection when working with these devices.

Every employer, including operators or landlords of buildings, has a legal obligation to ensure regular professional inspections and tests or inspections and checks on all electrical equipment, including hand tools. This measure ensures the basic safety of workers against the possible risk of electric shock.
Group A: tools used only occasionally (up to 100 operating hours per year)
Group B: tools used frequently but for short periods (from 100 to 250 operating hours per year)
Group C: tools used frequently and for longer periods (more than 250 operating hours per year)
