Scaffolding may be erected, altered and dismantled only by someone who holds a scaffolder's licence card.
We issue the licence card under Section 16(1)(a) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll. after a written test and a practical examination.
The course covers scaffolding types A to F, that is tube, supporting, mobile and free standing, timber, the builder's platform hoist and system scaffolding. We go through the founding and anchoring, the load bearing capacity of the ground, the sequence of assembly floor by floor, guard rails and decks, handing the scaffolding over for use and the record of it, the check before a shift and safe dismantling.
The course is open to a person from 18 years of age who has completed compulsory basic schooling and holds a medical report on fitness for work that is not older than six months.
The licence card has to be kept valid. The familiarisation is repeated once every 12 months under Section 3(1) of Decree No. 147/2013 Coll., and updating professional training every five years under Section 16(8) of Act No. 124/2006 Coll. You can take both with us.
Scaffolders work at height, so the course Work at height and above open depth is usually useful to them as well.
We train under Slovak regulations, which derive from Directive 2009/104/EC on the use of work equipment, valid throughout the European Union. In our experience the licence card is commonly recognised in the other member states.
